Guatemala

What a way to start the new year. Missed the flight at midnight due to continental airlines issues.
Stayed the night in SFO cus BART stopped running. Finally made it to Houston, TX and on to Guatemala City. Picked up by Alex's family and stayed the night in small village near Antigua called San Pedro Los Huertas. Breakfast consisted of black beans , bread, and fruit. Trip to Antigua to see the ruins, market, so many things i will update later.
We saw Art and got out tickets to Puerto Barrios.
Lunch was bread in black bean soup and fresh tortillas. We went back to Antigua to see live music by a traditional Maya band. Dinner was Pasta with olive oil and fresh tomatoes. Bed early and up at 3am to make our 4am bus to Puerto Barrios, today.
Long bus ride and no bathrooms. When we got to Puerto Barrios a kid named Jhonny helped us find the barcoterminale, boat terminal to Livingston.
Livingston is the the most amazing paradise! Soon as we got here we met the king of Livingston Polo. Amazing! Helped us find our hotel Dona Allida (The sweetest spot ever! with a balcony over the beach) and found us all three types of Traditional Garifuna music for $5 a cd. :D
Then we went for lunch at Tulingo Lingo the most fantastic food by Maria, a mexican who lived in Calcutta with her husband. Cooks italian, chinese, indian, thai, mexican, garifuna, guatemalan, vegetarian and vegan foods! amazing!
for $4.50 I had vegetarian curry and for $1.30 i had fresh pineapple juice.
She gave us advice to get to Rio Dulce and from there to Flores tomorrow.
So tomorrow looks like going to Siete Altares (seven waterfalls) then boat to Rio Dulce and Bus to Flores.
then a sunrise tour in Tikal ancient ruins wednesday morning and spend the day in the rainforest.
peace to all! i will tell more later.

Om Namah Shivaya.
